Holly Madison, ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, has opened up about life in the famous men’s magazine mansion founded by the entrepreneur.

Although she was in a relationship with Hefner for seven years, from 2001 to 2008, Madison had previously described their relationship as a “false paradise” and has now revealed more about life in the mansion.

In an interview with Daily Mirror, she claimed that the so-called “bunnies” received about $1,000 a week but were not allowed to be away from the house for long periods and lived under a curfew starting at 9 p.m.

“The reason I think the mansion resembled a cult so much, looking back, is that we were all kind of manipulated and expected to think of Hef as, like, this really cool guy,” she said at the time.

“You started to feel like, ‘Oh, he’s not what the media says — he’s just a nice guy.’ Another thing that reminds me of a cult is how easy it was to become isolated from the outside world there.”

“He said it made him jealous, and he would appreciate it if I quit my job — so instead, we got $1,000 a week as an allowance,” the model added.

“You had a curfew at 9 p.m., and you were encouraged not to have friends over. You weren’t allowed to go out unless it was, like, a family holiday.”
